Official: A.I. to Detroit, Billups and McDyess to Denver

What is Joe Dumars thinking?!?!
Allen Iverson is about to be the newest Piston, in an intriguing trade between the East and West. A.I. has a huge contract about to expire, in just months from now, where Billups is signed for 3 more years. In my not so expert opinion, Denver appears to be scoring big on this trade, by acquiring Mr. Big Shot Billups by giving away a player they may lose to free agency in just months from now. McDyess is just icing on the cake. And both are familiar with Denver, as it is home to Chauncey, and McDyess has has more than one stint with the Nuggs. While I know Joe Dumars wants to stir the pot, I think he has made a premature decision here, and could have held back for a much better deal. Heck, even trading for a player like Hinrich or Marbury or Jamal Crawford may make more sense. What happens at the end of this season? Do you pay a soon to be 34 year old Iverson another 20 million per year? Isn’t 34 actually like 40 in point guard years? If I were a Pistons fan, I would be screaming "Say it aint so Joe!", right about now.
